How Metro Phase 2 Corridor 4 could change living along Arcot Road.
Chennai Metro Phase 2 is one of the city's largest infrastructure projects. Its Corridor 4 runs from Lighthouse to Poonamallee, and a major stretch follows Arcot Road through Kodambakkam, Vadapalani, Saligramam and Valasaravakkam to Porur. Vadapalani is planned as an interchange with the existing Green Line, putting Brigade Arcot Road's neighbourhood at the meeting point of two metro lines.
Once open end-to-end, residents can travel east to Mylapore and the coast and west to Porur's IT parks without using Arcot Road. That widens job options and supports rental demand. See Porur homes.
Construction brings barricades, diversions and dust along Arcot Road. Plan site visits with this in mind; it is temporary.
Metro timelines change. Check Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) updates for which Corridor 4 sections are open before relying on it in your plans.
